  • and (и),
  • but (но),
  • or (или),
  • nor (ни…ни).

My friend called me and we went to a café together.

Is it a new or an old umbrella?

This is a new computer, but it works badly.
  • She is a young, but serious girl. –

and

  • I have two pets, a cat and a dog. –
  • I need a sheet of paper and a pen to write down the necessary information. –

but

  • It is rainy, but warm in London now.
  • I am not sure if my boss comes to the office or not, but I must finish my work till the evening. –

or

  • You can read this book here, in the reading hall, or take it home. –
  • Should I go by bus or subway to reach the center of the city? –

nor

  • I’ve neither written nor called my friend today. –
  • She neither lives nor works in Russia. –
